Collected, gathered, clustered... lovely.

Tuesday, February 22, 2011

One of my very favorite trends in table design is a "collected" feel.  Objects, accessories, and vessels always look even more beautiful when displayed in groupings.  This is true in all types of design (modern/contemporary, rustic, vintage-inspired, etc), but it certainly seems to work beautifully in the Anthropologie-inspired vignettes that so many of my clients are loving:

Below, gardeny and rustic groupings of terra-cotta, moss, and birch are lovely together.

Glassware of all types works beautifully in clusters, as well- I love mixes of milk glass, mercury glass, eclectic bottles and colored glass of all kinds:

Silver and china works beautifully in this manner, as well.  I love these slightly more formal mixed displays of books, teacups, silver, and more...
